Living A Lifestyle of Gratitude

The other night as I was praying I was asking the Lord to remind me of His goodness and show me how to live out life and this season of grief with gratitude. The Lord brought me to this passage in Psalms and revealed to me something too good not to share. I am praying its as much of a challenge and encouragement to you as it continues to be to me.

“It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name O Most High: To declare* Your lovingkindness* in the morning, and Your faithfulness by night.” Psalm 92:1-2

God prompted my heart to look up some of these definitions to fully understand this verse outlining ways to have a grateful heart in the midst of any circumstances.

Declare*-means to voice it, announce, state, reveal and profess. (Notice it does not say anything about how you feel or emotions but to profess it regardless.)

Lovingkindness*- tenderness and consideration.

Therefore a way to remind yourself is too:

  1. In the morning declare how the Lord has been tender and considerate towards you.
  2. At night recall and declare His great faithfulness to you.

This helps us align our hearts before our day begins and at night to remind ourselves, not matter how we feel how He has been faithful to us.

Join me in practicing this so we can start our day and finish our day with a heart of gratitude to our Savior who has been so good to us.

  2. Thank you Brittany for your insight. I needed to be reminded that my feelings, good or bad, have nothing to do with God and His character and that He deserves my gratitude and has a right to it. I hope you have a blessed day in Him!

  3. Sweet Brittany just wanted to tell you I am so blessed by your heart for Jesus and your strength. God is so good to use Patrick’s life for His glory and he will use your boys lives too. I lost my step father at a young age to cancer and my mom was left to raise 3 girls. I know it is so hard but it will give you a desire for God like you never imagined. The Lord has always been my true father in all ways. Love to you and your precious boys❤️❤️

  4. Although I don’t know you personally, I’m grateful to have come across your story. I’m a mom of 3 under 5. Your words and photos minister to me and I’m in awe of God’s amazing grace in your life. Thank you for modeling for me this Christian walk. Just prayed my favorite verse over you: Romans 15:13. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
