If Motherhood Was Easy

If Motherhood was easy then I wouldn’t be appreciative of the small victories.

If Motherhood was clean then I wouldn’t have learned the patience it takes to deal with messes.

If Motherhood came with accolades then I wouldn’t know how to serve with the right motives.

If Motherhood came with a manual then I wouldn’t be constantly on my knees before the Lord begging for wisdom.

If Motherhood was glamorous then I wouldn’t realize that beauty comes from consistently doing the mundane.

If Motherhood was all about me then I wouldn’t be able to see my selfishness and be sanctified through it.

If Motherhood was a short season then I wouldn’t see how beautiful things get after they are nurtured and grow.

  1. Brittany, can I share this on my blog? You have concisely captured the perspective I pray for every day. And I’m constantly reminded how I can’t do this in my own strength, but only with His!

My prayer each day is that God will give me this perspective that Brittany has so perfectly, concisely described. I’m sharing here in case it is an encouragement to others, and so I can find it and read it over and over again. Thank you for writing this, Brittany!
